After a strong-willed battle with cancer, Donna died Wednesday, August 19, 2015 in her 55th year, overlooking Wolfe Lake at sunset. Donna was the beloved wife of Evan Hughes of Powassan and loving mother of Jesse Lowe of North Bay, Jennifer Hughes of Cobourg, Melissa Hughes of North Bay and Shawn Hughes of Callander. She was the dear daughter of Donna and the late John Sakaluk of North Bay and sister of Tom of Hamilton and Scott of Illinois. She was the proud grandmother of Darwin, Keller, Sadie, Logan, Natalie and Tyrion. Fondly remembered daughter-in-law of Laura and the late Murray Hughes and family. Donna was a Behavioral Consultant for many years with the Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board. A Memorial Service will be held at the Paul Funeral Home, Powassan on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at 11 am. The celebration of Donna’s life will continue at a reception in the Powassan Legion Branch 453. Cremation has taken place.
