STEPHAN, Elizabeth Ramona “Betty”

Elizabeth Stephan died peacefully at St. Joseph’s Motherhouse, North Bay, on Saturday, February 18, 2017. She was in her 89th year. Elizabeth was predeceased by her parents Alma (McConnell) and William Stephens and by her siblings Ruth Muncaster, Mary Pratt-Lake, Shirley Ann Berger and Bernard “Boze” Stephens. She is survived by her sisters Gertrude Ultscher (the late Gus) of Pickering and Bernice “Bunny” Brooks (the late H.J. “Doc”) of Arnstein. Aunt Betty will be lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Elizabeth entered the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peterborough, Ontario in 1948 and served her faith community for over 34 years, retiring to St. Joseph’s Motherhouse, North Bay, in 2002. The Stephens family will receive visitors at the Paul Funeral Home, Powassan on Thursday, February 23 from 12:30 to 2:00 pm. with a  funeral service at 2:00 pm. Cremation will be followed by spring interment of ashes at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Loring.
