Suddenly and unexpectedly, on October 15, 2016 at North Bay Regional Health Centre in her 84th year. Gloria (nee Hummel) was predeceased by her husband Bernard Stephens (1927-2013). She was the beloved mother of Pat Stephens of Powassan and Cathy Brooks (Lyall) of Loring. Lovingly remembered by grandchildren Mitchell (Steffany) of Powassan and Kaitlyn Alexander (D.J.) of Manitouwadge and great-grandchildren Jenna & Wyatt Alexander and Charlotte Brooks. Gloria was the dear sister of Willard Hummel (Marie) of Trout Creek, Cletus Hummel (Joan) of North Bay, Margaret VanMierlo (the late Bernard) of Trout Creek and Cloyd Hummel of Trout Creek. She was predeceased by her siblings Rose Grasser (the late Bill), Clarence Hummel, Eleanor Oshell-Duncan (the late Joe Oshell and the late Harry Duncan), Greg Hummel (Grace of Trout Creek), Jerome Hummel, Lawrence Hummel, Florence Hewitt (the late Bill) and Bernice Brunne (the late Harry). Dear friend of Robin and Alan Mooney of Sault Ste. Marie. The Stephens family will receive visitors at the Paul Funeral Home, Powassan on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. and on Thursday, October 20 from 10 am until the funeral service at 11 am. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Trout Creek. If desired, memorial donations to the RCL Br.  415 Port Loring, Poppy Fund (cheques only please) are suggested.
