With her daughters by her side, Ina Fong died peacefully, at Eastholme, Powassan on Wednesday, June 28, 2017. She was in her 81st year. Ina (née Jones) was the beloved mother of Kathy Svitak of Toronto, Vicky French (Darcy) of Powassan and Tammy Genier (Pat) of Calgary; grandmother of Zak (Teri), Eric (Jen), Logan, Matthew and Shaun; and great-grandmother of Roryan and Kindree. Ina was the dear sister of the late George Jones, the late Alfred Jones, the late Adeline Ball, the late Lillian Amell, Zilda Edwards of North Bay, Edgar Jones of Sturgeon Falls and Lloyd Jones of Callander. Ina was a much loved cook at South River’s Happy Landing for many years prior to her retirement. Cremation has taken place. Ina’s family will receive visitors at the Paul Funeral Home, Powassan on Friday, June 30, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, July 1 at 11:00 am. Interment of ashes will follow at a later date in Powassan Union Cemetery. Ina’s family wish to express their sincere gratitude to all of the Eastholme staff for their genuine care and compassion over the last 16 years.
