Ron Carriere died peacefully after a brief illness at Health Sciences North, Sudbury, with family at his side, on Monday, May 9, 2016. He was in his 70th year. Ron was the beloved husband of Cherry Joan (Near) of Loring. He was the very much loved father of Tammy (Alan Jones) of Brantford, Scott of Stoney Creek and Michelle (Mark Schonberger) of Lost Channel. Grandpa Ron/Papa will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Melissa, Megan and Martina. Ron is survived by his siblings John, Diane, Annette, Joeanne, Sue and Jamie. The Carriere family will receive visitors at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 415, Port Loring on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 pm with a Legion Tribute at 3:30 pm followed by a Celebration of Life ceremony. Cremation will follow with burial of ashes at Farrington Cemetery, Brantford at a later date. If desired, donations in memory of Ron to the Health Sciences North Cancer Foundation, the Kidney Foundation or the Diabetes Association are suggested.
