VESTER, Robert Michael “Mickey”

Peacefully surrounded by family at his Powassan home on Monday, June 19, 2017 after a long battle with cancer. He was in his 70th year. Mickey Vester was the beloved husband of Mary (Loxton) of Powassan; Father of Lee-Ann Bossert (Garry) of North Bay; and grandfather of Bryanne, Farrah (Dave) and Nadine (Blake), and great-grandfather of Logan, Clarity and an imminent great-grandchild. He was predeceased by his parents Ruby (Brownlee) and Charles Vester and twin infant children. Mickey is survived by siblings Laura Hughes (the late Murray) of Powassan and Bill Vester (Jane) of Rutherglen and predeceased by siblings Dorothy Neely, John, Leonard, Eric, Lloyd and an infant brother Sammy Vester. He was a dear brother-in-law of Gord Neely of North Bay, Lois Vester of Powassan, Dolores Townson (Glen) of North Bay, Isabelle Vester of Trout Creek, and Barb Vester of Powassan. Mickey was a longtime gas fitter and plumber with Gerry’s Heating and Noll Climate Care. The Vester family will receive visitors at the Paul Funeral Home, Powassan on Friday, June 23, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. Funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday at 2 pm. Cremation to follow at Forest Lawn Crematorium, North Bay. If desired, memorial donations to Daffodil Terrace Lodge are suggested.
