Christine Jessie Kancaid (Christie) Kovacs

Christine Kovacs died peacefully at Nipissing Serenity Hospice, North Bay, on Thursday, March 28, 2024. She was 85 years old. Christine (nee Christie) was predeceased by her husband Ferenc “Frank” Kovacs. She was the much-loved mother of Tracey Fietz (Dale) of Parksville, British Columbia and Tanya Sawh (Clive) of Callander. She will be lovingly remembered by two grandchildren: Adam (Rachel) and Sara, and three great-grandchildren: Oliver, Maxwell, and Harrison. Christine was the dear sister of John (Angela), David (Mona), Dorothy (Brad) and Mavis (Terry). Born in Leeds, Christine began a career in healthcare in England before immigrating to Canada where she continued to work in nursing care in the Burk’s Falls area. She and Frank were longtime residents (50 plus years), just outside of Burk’s Falls - on a beautiful piece of property in the country, that backed onto the Magnetawan River and where the family has many fond memories.
