ODORIZZI, Donald John – Lifelong Owner/Operator Odorizzi Lumber

Following several months of declining health, Don Odorizzi died peacefully, on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at Water’s Edge Nursing Care Centre, North Bay. He was in his 89th year. Don was the beloved husband of Ferne (Moore) of North Bay. He was the much-loved father of Gregg Odorizzi (Susan) of North Bay and Terry Odorizzi (Lisa) of Pembroke. Grandpa will be lovingly remembered by three grandchildren: Curtis (Jenni), Carrie (Leo) and Kameron (Kirsten) and one great-grandchild, Mira. Don was predeceased by his sister Dorothy Rowland (the late Tom). Following in his father Jack Odorizzi’s footsteps, Don took over ownership and operation of Odorizzi Lumber in Golden Valley for many years, employing numerous local men and launching several careers in the lumber industry. The Odorizzi family extend their sincere gratitude to Drs. Kolb and Redhead, the staff of Marina Point and the staff of Water’s Edge Care Community, for all the compassionate care and attention Don received. The Odorizzi family will receive visitors at the Paul Funeral Home, Powassan on Thursday, September 20, 2018 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm; and on Friday, September 21 at St. Paul’s United Church, Golden Valley, from 1:00 to 2:00 pm with the funeral service at 2:00 pm. Interment to follow at St. Paul’s Cemetery, Golden Valley. If desired, memorial donations to St. Paul’s United Church or the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario are suggested.
