NEW, Eric “Harvey”

Peacefully, with his family at his side, Harvey passed away at North Bay Regional Health Centre on Sunday, August 13, 2017. He was in his 72nd year. Harvey was the beloved husband of Louella Irene (Mooney) of Powassan and father of Chris (Nancy) of Timmins, David of North Bay, and estranged daughter Susan of Stratford. Proud Grandpa of 9 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was the dear brother of Wesley (Donna) of Calgary, Lorna Van Mierlo (Ron) of Whitefish, Doris Popham (Bubba) of Shawville, Quebec, Elburn (Helen) of Shawville, Kathy Young (Frank) of Powassan, Margaret Hewitt (Steve) of Sundridge, Roger (Diana) of Capreol and sisters-in-law Angela of Shawville and Blanche of Cumbermere. Harvey was predeceased by his parents Ellis New and Violet (Watson) and brothers Richard and Don. The New family will receive visitors at Paul Funeral Home, Powassan on Wednesday, August 16th from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm The funeral service will take place at 11 am on Thursday in the funeral home. Interment to follow in Holiness Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations to the CHEO or Nipissing Serenity Hospice (cheques only please) would be appreciated.
