HEASMAN, Evelyn Gertrude Elena (nee Hilton)

Evelyn was in her 93rd year of life (1926-2019) when on March 8, 2019 she peacefully took her last breath in her sleep.  She was a bighearted soul with a friendly smile, and quick to give you a kiss on your hand.  She was also determined (even stubborn at times), hard working, and held on to life with tenacity.  After a stroke in 2007, she lost mobility and speech and moved from her home in Callander to reside at both Nipissing Manor (2007-2010) and Eastholme (2010-2019), where the staff often called her a “sweet lady”. Evelyn’s husband of 46 years, John Heasman, preceded her in death (1913-1995).  Evelyn was the beloved mother of 3 daughters and 2 sons: Janis “Sheila” Boucher of Parry Sound, Kathleen Young-Cooper (1945-2010), Charles Heasman of Redbridge, Rosemary Cook of Broomfield, Colorado, USA, and Mark Heasman (1962-2008).  She will also be lovingly remembered by 17 grandchildren, 15 plus great grandchildren and even some great-great grandchildren.  Evelyn was predeceased by siblings Joan Robertson, Jim Hilton, Vernon Hilton, and June Hilton.  She lived to be the oldest of her family.
