Gene was a friend in high school whom I had lost contact with over the years until the last few years. Fortunately I was able to meet him at Dino's for lunch in April before he went to his favorite place in Canada.
He was a good person and will be missed by all that knew him both here & Canada. I think he was where he would have wanted to be at the end, even though it was too soon..

We were greatly saddened to hear of the loss of one of our lake family members.
Gene will be forever remembered for his gentle and kind personality. We will fondly reminisce of the times that we shared on Sag Lake as well as, of course, Gene's culinary passion, the delicious meals, finished off by the biggest, best pies, all cooked on that wonderful big cook stove.
RIP Gene, you will be missed.

So sad to hear of Gene's passing. Sag lake won't be the same without him. We miss him already. Our heart felt condolences to Jeanette and the rest of Gene's family.

Sending my condolences to Genes family and friends. Such a tragedy.
Gene will always be remembered for his generosity and caring for my family when my son Johnny passed away in 1995. He went above and beyond at our time of sorrow.

Sorry to hear of Gene's passing!!! He was a great friend to many on "Sag Lake" and we chatted often as he traveled in and out the road to town. He said that I was to stop him when I was working so we could chat and I did many times!!! He was a fixture at Jake's Restaurant when in Port and I would see him talking with many friends he made over the years!!! He will be missed!! Sue
