HEIMBOLD, Hans Eckardt

After a lengthy period of illness Hans died peacefully at age 89, with his wife Rita by his side, on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at North Bay Regional Health Centre. Hans Heimbold was the beloved husband of Rita Anna (Hornig). He was the beloved father of Eckardt Heimbold (Christiane), Petra Betz (Hans), and Peter Heimbold, the proud and loving Opa of Stefan, Andreas and Melanie, and the dear brother of Juergen Heimbold (Heidi) and Christa Heyn (Arno) all of Germany. Hans was born in Hamburg, Germany where he married Rita. He trained and worked as a Mechanical Engineer in Germany. Then Hans and Rita immigrated to Canada in 1984 to farm on the Alsace Road, near Powassan. Hans returned to work as a Mechanical Engineer in power generation in several Arab countries until retirement.
