DEFOREST, Harry Edward

Harry Edward died peacefully, with his family at his side, at North Bay Regional Health Centre, on Friday, January 4, 2019. He was 88 years old.  Harry was predeceased by his beloved wife Thelma (Boughner) (1935-2016). He was the much-loved father of Marten Deforest (Heather) of Corbeil, Howard Deforest (Mary) of Mattawa, Randy Deforest (Carolyn) of Fergus, Terry Woods (Welly Hughes) of Mattawa and Robert Deforest (Deborah) of Grand Valley. He was the proud grandfather of 17 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Harry was predeceased by his siblings Harold, Les, Charlie, Jack, Russell and Clarence Deforest. The Deforest family will receive visitors at Paul Funeral Home, Powassan, on Saturday, January 12, 2019 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm in the funeral home. Cremation to follow with spring interment of ashes at Coningsby Cemetery, Erin, Ontario. If desired, memorial donations to the Nipissing Scouts are suggested (cheques only please).
