Janet Allen Death Notice

ALLEN, Janet Elizabeth

It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Janet Elizabeth Allen (Sadleir) at the North Bay Regional Health Centre, surrounded by her loving family, Thursday July 4, 2019, in her 73rd year. Predeceased by her husband Wilfred and lovingly remembered by her children Sean and Kerri (Tim). Grandma will be missed dearly by her "babies", Mason and Freya. Janet is survived by her twin sister Heather Bennett (Earl) and was predeceased by her parents, Rev. Ralph and Ethel Sadleir, sister Audrey and brother Richard. Janet is fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and family friends, who also called her Mom. Janet was born in Sarnia, Ontario and moved a lot in her younger years, as her father was a Minister with the Anglican Church. After meeting her husband in Ingersoll, Ontario, she went on to Graduate from the Ontario Teacher's College in 1966. She and her husband started their teaching careers in Elliot Lake, Ontario. Following the birth of their son, they moved to North Bay. They both loved the area and never left. After the birth of their daughter, Janet's family became her focus. She spent countless hours at arenas and ball fields. As well, she planned the family's 53-day camping excursion out to the west coast. Janet had a passion for painting, that was something truly extraordinary, starting with watercolours and expanding into acrylics. As her talents grew, her family convinced her to have prints of some of her prized pieces made. Janet was an amazing cook but would never divulge exactly what amounts of certain ingredients went into her signature dishes. After Jan's husband passed, she moved to her new place on Callander Bay and loved taking in all the beautiful lakeside views. Of her greatest joy's, she loved watching her grandchildren grow and become such special people. She loved her family and dear friends. She loved her pets and her loons. She most definitely will be missed by all. Janet and her family would like to extend their deepest appreciation and sincerest gratitude to Dr. Jon Noble of the Sudbury Regional Cancer Center and to her "Angel", Dr. Inez Jinnah of North Bay. Also all the nursing staff that cared for her over the many years. We invite you to Janet's gathering of family and friends at the Paul Funeral Home, Powassan on Monday, July 15th at 1pm with a service to follow at 2pm. If desired, donations can be made to the C3 Palliative Care Floor at the North Bay Regional Health Center, in Jan's memory.
