Laverne “Vern” Fawcett died peacefully, at Cassellholme, North Bay, on Sunday, February 17, 2019. He was in his 77th year.  Vern was the beloved husband of Zelma Carnevale (nee Smith) of North Bay. He is survived by his stepchildren Kerry Carnevale and Debra-anne Martin; his step-grandchildren: Kaleb, Kassey (Steve Meecham) and Vanessa, great-grandchildren Jade, Foxx, Wolf, Ryder and McKinley; and by his many cousins. Vern was predeceased by his parents Louise “Lou” (Eckensviller) (1912-2010) and Ashley “Ash” Fawcett (1890-1978). Cremation has taken place. Friends and relatives are invited to a memorial visitation on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at St. Joseph's Church, Powassan, from 10:00 to 11:00 am, followed by a funeral mass at 11:00. Spring interment of ashes will take place at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Trout Creek. If desired, memorial donations to St. Joseph’s Church Building Fund is suggested.
