Terrance “Terry” Topps

Passed away suddenly at home in Mississauga, on November 3, 2018.  Loving Husband of 52 years to Norma Topps (Young), Father to Ryan (Lisa) and Terri-Lynn (Jeff Madge) and beloved Grandfather of David Madge. Predeceased by his parents Gerald and Bertha Topps, and his brothers Jack (Terry) and Alvin (Letty) Topps and sister Anne Young.  Survived by brother Glen (Brenda) Topps, sister Sharon Moore (Chester Polesky) and Bob Young (Valerie).  Brother-in-law to Jerry (Carol) Young, John (Connie) Young and Judy (Moe) Downey.  Terry will be greatly missed by his many nieces and nephews.  Terry will be greatly missed by his many nieces and nephews. After moving from Powassan to Toronto, Terry worked for several car dealerships and drove for BP Oil.  In 1975 Mississauga Transit called to offer him a job as a Bus Driver.  He accepted the job, “until he could find something better”.  Thirty-one years later he was still working at the Transit, then as Superintendent of Operations, until his retirement in 2006. Visitation at Glen Oaks Funeral Home – 3164 Ninth Line, Oakville, ON (at Dundas Street) 905-257-8822 on Tuesday, November 6th from 6 to 9 pm and Wednesday, November 7th from 12 to 1 pm.  Funeral service to follow immediately, from 1-2 pm. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to either The Heart and Stroke Foundation or Trillium Health Partners – Cardiology & Oncology.
