CHALMERS, Alfred G. M. “Sonny”
Alfred Chalmers died peacefully, at North Bay Regional Health Centre, on Thursday July 22, 2021 at the age of 90. Alf had a long employment with Innisfil Township as a Police Officer (1957-1971) and Innisfil P.U.C. (1971-1993). Alf was an Alderman for the City of Barrie for one term and assisted the community in raising funds and building the Painswick Park. Alf was the beloved husband of June (Ewing) of Loring. He was the much-loved father of Michael Chalmers (Tracy) of Loring, Mark Chalmers (Cathy) of Barrie, John Chalmers (Sandy) of Barrie and Janet (Phil Hammell) of Midhurst. He will be lovingly remembered by 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Alf was the dear brother of the late Margaret Young, Mary Lewis of Barrie and Jack Chalmers of Thornhill. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
