Anna Marie (Sabourin) Mote

It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Anna Mote on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Health Sciences North in Sudbury surrounded by the love of her family. She was 65 years old.

Anna will be forever missed by her daughter Natalie Charette of North Bay. She is also survived by her sisters, Linda Etches (Dave) of North Bay and Sheri Crowder (Greg) of Montana. She was the dearly loved cousin and adored aunt of many nieces and nephews and cherished by countless friends and families whose lives she touched. Anna was predeceased by her husband, Gary Mote, her parents, Eunice (Skuce) and Gilbert Sabourin, and her brother, Tim Sabourin.

She is also lovingly remembered by her father-in-law, Gary Mote Sr., and mother-in-law, Barb Mote and family. 

Anna had a gift for making people feel loved. Sweet, caring, thoughtful, and endlessly generous, she found joy in the little things and took every opportunity to brighten someone else’s day. She was known for her contagious laugh, playful sense of humour, and ability to laugh at herself. Young at heart, Anna embraced life with curiosity, kindness, and a sense of fun that never faded.

A talented crafter and thoughtful gift-giver, she was always creating something special for someone she loved. Whether it was a handmade treasure, a thoughtful gesture, or simply a phone call to check in, Anna made people feel seen and cared for.

Children held a special place in her heart. As the operator of a home daycare in Callander for many years, she became a second mother and grandmother figure to countless children. Her warmth, patience, and nurturing spirit left a lasting impact on many families throughout the community.

Though her passing leaves an immeasurable void, those who knew Anna will remember her beautiful smile, her generous heart, and the laughter she brought into every room.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held in August, with details to be announced.

In memory of Anna, donations may be made to the Noah Strong Foundation, reflecting her lifelong love of children.
