JOHNSON, Bonnie
It’s with broken hearts Krista & Jana share the death of our Mom, Bonnie Johnson at age 80. Bonnie (nee Bennett) was born & raised in Thunder Bay, before moving to Powassan for her, and her beloved Jim, to start their long-standing careers as teachers. Bonnie will be tremendously missed by her granddaughter Ayla, daughters Jana & Krista, brother Bill, cousin Valerie, and all of her in-laws; Debbie & the Hrymnaks Clan, Jay Way & the greater Way Pack, Neil Kilby & the Kilby fam, and Lee Rideough. Bonnie was preceded by her husband of 55 years, Jim, her mom, Vera/Nanny and her father, Kip (Wallace).
Bonnie made an impact on everyone she met. Everyone. She was a joker, a flirt, a pain-in-the-ass-in-the-most-charming-way. She loved to talk and would take audience with anyone who would engage- she loved to hear other’s stories, and was wildly compassionate & generous. As an elementary teacher for over 30 years, she had long standing connections with people and families, often teaching multiple generations. Some retirement years were spent in Agassiz, British Columbia where she continued to built her collection of kind & loyal friends before returning to Ontario to be closer to Family.
For the past six years many at The Waterford Retirement Home became special to her. Bonnie was dearly loved by so many. We ask that in her honour please shock someone with a dirty joke!
In lieu of donations please take time to age well & strong, and consider palliative care for your loved ones in-home; the level of medical care and support was outstanding.
Please join Krista and Jana for an afternoon of memories and celebration at 250 Clark, Powassan, on Friday, June 16, 2023 beginning at 1:30 pm.
