The Godda family announces Bruce’s death on January 25, 2026, at his home in Powassan. Following a courageous and determined battle with cancer, Bruce passed away peacefully, surrounded by the comfort of his family.
Born in Sudbury, Ontario, Bruce was a man who balanced a hardworking spirit with a deep devotion to his family. His journey took him from a career in mining transportation with INCO to retirement in the quiet town of Powassan, making friends and leaving an impact in every circle he joined. For decades Bruce volunteered with the Estaire-Wanup Fire Department. Bruce was known for his calm, easy-going manner, and he faced his illness with the same quiet strength that defined his life.
Bruce was the devoted husband for 39 years of Virginia “Ginny” (Clelland) of Powassan. He was a proud and loving father to Maureen Weller (Dave Burgess) of Powassan and Sherri Hachey (Joe) of Walkerton, and grandfather of Audrey, Colin, Autumn and Dane.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Inez Jinnah and Bruce’s homecare team for their compassionate care, which allowed him to remain at home during his final days.
In keeping with Bruce’s wishes, cremation has taken place. His family will receive visitors at the Paul Funeral Home, Powassan on Saturday, February 7, 2026 from 10:00 am, followed by a service to celebrate Bruce’s life at 11:00 am, which will be live-streamed (please see below).
