ANDERSON, Carol Irene (nee Larondeau)

Carol Anderson died unexpectedly at her Chisholm Township home, on Sunday, July 17, 2022, at the age of 69. She was the much-loved mother of Christine Popkie (Edward) of Haileybury, Janet Yemm (Owen) of Callander and Mark Anderson (Jessica) of Callander. She will be lovingly remembered by grandchildren: Robert, Jenna, Megan (Dylan), Owen, Payton, Cole, Mitchell, Aubrey, and great granddaughter Addison. Carol was predeceased by her parents, David and Margaret Larondeau (nee Sheilds) of Callander. Carol is survived by her siblings David Larondeau of Tilden Lake, Susan Campbell (Glen), Ruth Larondeau, and Beatrice Caughey (Tom) all of North Bay. Carol was predeceased by her partner Shaun Loxton. She is survived by her former husband Harvey Anderson. Most of her life she enjoyed skiing, riding horses and travelling the world with friends. Carol was an avid reader and cribbage lover when the weather kept her in. She preferred to be outdoors; working in the garden, doing lawn work, snowshoeing, fishing, and often biking into town for lunch. If you were lucky enough to know her you likely received a gift, whether it was a loaf of bread, a jar of pickles, or a pair of custom socks, moccasins or mitts. Carol served as school secretary at many schools in the Near North District School Board and in her retirement volunteered at the Grace House. A Memorial gathering will be held at Paul Funeral Home on Thursday, July 21, 2022 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. A private graveside service will take place at Callander Union Cemetery at a later date. Cremation has taken place. If desired, in lieu of flowers donations in Carol’s name can be made to the Powassan Public Library, 250 Clark Programming, MS Society or Heart & Stroke Foundation.
