It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Clarke Barber, who died peacefully at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on Monday November the 10th, 2025. He was in his 93rd year.
Clarke is survived by his beloved wife, Mae (Beatty) of 63 years. Clarke’s memory will live on through his children Chris Barber (Donna), Shari Culin (Robin), Gloria Hanna (Ashley), and Trina Odd (Rob). He was the proud “Grandpa” to Carly (Darren) and Kaitlin (Ryan); Emily and Dakota; Megan and Markus (Josée).
Clarke was the son of the late Donald and Hazel (Clarke) Barber of Hotham and was pre-deceased by his siblings Adrian, Stella Church (Leonard), Orval, Eleanore Beatty (Jim), Beth Cross (Lloyd), Donna Saunders (William), and Frank. He is survived by his siblings Jim Barber (Helen) and Brenda Stillar (the late Evie) (Harley), and his sisters-in-law Ruth and Phyllis. Clarke will be fondly missed by Mae’s sisters Isla Reed and Bonnie Smith, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Clarke retired from Fabrene in North Bay after 27 years. He enjoyed 30 years of retirement travelling with Mae across Canada in their motorhome and spending countless weekends and holidays at Sand Lake and Barber Hunt Camps. He was an avid hunter and spent many hunting seasons at the Barber Camp and most recently the hunt of 2024. He especially enjoyed spoiling his six grandchildren, who were the apple of his eye.
