It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Darrin Gordon Thornborrow, who left us far too soon on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at the age of 59.
Darrin was the beloved husband, best friend, and soulmate of Caroline Oorschot - Thornborrow of Corbeil. His legacy lives on through his sons who were his proudest accomplishments and his grandchildren, whom he adored:
Brandon Thornborrow, and partner Sadie Rowe of Utterson.
Davin Thornborrow, and wife Bekah of Hamilton - Darrin was a doting and fun-loving "Grandpa" to their three daughters: Artemis, Livia, and Theodora.
He was the proud and cherished son of James Thornborrow and Cheryl (McKinnon) of Hamilton. Darrin will be deeply missed by his sister, Jaylene Rother, and her husband Tom of South River, and will be missed as well by his extended family, friends, and neighbours.
Darrin was proud of his professional life as a Mechanical Millwright, Welder, Finish Carpenter, Lead Hand and Supervisor where he dedicated his career for 22 years to the company now known as Ontario Shipyards. And most recently he was proud to be Manager of Operations at Hose-Tech in North Bay.
Cremation has taken place.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Perkins Centre, 1429 Main St. East, Hamilton, Ontario L8K 1C2 on Saturday, February 7th, from 3-5 pm.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the Nipissing Parry Sound District Emergency Medical Services, Coroner Dr. Steven Bodley and Police Services.
