It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of David A Richards. He passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Eastholme in Powassan, Ontario on August 17, 2023.

David is predeceased by his parents Thomas Richards and Margaret J Richards (Haining). David will be mourned by his wife Linda M. Richards (Syer), his four children, Tara (Richard), Laura (Tim), Alissa (Derek) and Tim (Vanessa). “Poppy”, as his grandchildren called him, will be missed by Sam, Isaac, Spencer, Juliet, Arthur, Anastasia, Logan, Jillian, Darcy, Hannah and Carter. David will be missed by his siblings and many nieces and nephews.

David was a respected engineer in the North Bay area who contributed to many aspects of our beautiful city. He was an avid fisherman and huntsman. He loved spending time outdoors, especially at the cottage with family and friends. David spent the last three years of his life at Eastholme in Powassan, Ontario. The family wishes to thank the exceptional staff for the love and care they provided in the last years of his life as well as the doctors that were involved in his care.

Celebration of life service will be held at South Shore Missionary Church at 2pm on August 26, 2023. An opportunity to extend condolences will be available at 1pm prior to the service. Light luncheon to follow the service. In lieu of flowers, David’s wishes were that donations be made to the South Shore Missionary Youth Fund or the Arnstein Evangelical Baptist Church.
