Van ALSTYNE, DONALD ALBERT

Unexpectedly, on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Mattawa General Hospital. He was in his 88th year. Don was predeceased by his wife, Pauline Rita (Chayer) (1930-2013). He was the much-loved father of Phillip Van Alstyne (Daphne Bruce) of Campbellville and Paul Van Alstyne (Judy Kennedy) of Cold Springs, AB. Don was predeceased by his brothers Eric and Phillip Van Alstyne. He will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends. The Van Alstyne family will receive visitors at the Paul Funeral Home, Powassan, on Sunday, May 12, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00 (open casket) and 7:00 to 9:00 (closed casket). A funeral mass will be held Monday, May 13, 2018 at 11:00 am. at St. Joseph’s Church, Powassan. Interment at St. Louis de France Cemetery will follow. If desired, memorial donations to the the Nature Conservancy of Canada or the World Wildlife Fund are suggested (cheques only please).
