After a long period of failing health, Dougal passed peacefully in his sleep, at Nipissing Manor, Corbeil, on Tuesday, March 25, 2025. He was 93 years old.
Dougal was predeceased by his wife Helen (McKinney) (1933-2004) and his sons Rickie Culham (1953-2013) (Linda of Nipissing) and Dougal J. Culham (1959-2021) (Luanne of Nipissing). He was the proud and loving grandfather of David (Rebecca) of Nipissing, Darren (Kayla) of Sundridge, Jeff (Danielle) of Nipissing, and Jason (Karissa) of Nipissing; and great-grandfather of Griffin, Sullivan, Dawson, Lyla, Jada, Braedan, Mason, Mackenzie, Haily, Chrystie, Joey and Dallis. Dougal was the dear brother of James Culham (Betty Ann) of Saskatoon, SK and was predeceased by his sisters Yvonne Stillar (the late Arnold) and Mary Spear (the late Charles).
Dougal was well known in Nipissing Township where he worked as Roads Superintendent for 24 years. In 1993 Dougal was elected to the position of Councilor where he served the next ten years before health issues necessitated his retirement.
The Culham family will receive visitors at the Paul Funeral Home, Powassan, on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Masonic tribute service at 7:45 pm. Spring interment will take place at Nipissing Cemetery.
