JAMES, Douglas Wayne

Doug James died peacefully, at Nipissing Serenity Hospice, on Monday, May 16, 2022. He was 61 years old. Doug was the beloved father of Brittany James of North Bay. He was the much-loved son of Clara James of Callander and was predeceased by his father Edward James, his brother Steven (Jackie of Callander), and nephew Taylor. Doug was the dear brother of Garry James of Peterborough. He will be lovingly remembered by his former wife and best friend Kimberly James. He will be fondly remembered by his nephews Mathew, Trevor, and Mitchell; and great nephews Thatcher, Dorian, and Clancy. Doug was a millwright by trade, working at Fabrene and then Tembec, retiring in 2018. The family would like to thank all of the wonderful staff at Nipissing Serenity Hospice for their love and care in Doug’s last days. They would also like to thank all of Doug’s neighbours and friends in Temiscaming for enabling him to stay at the place that he loved, for as long as possible, throughout his battle with cancer. Special thanks to his Nurse Braeden and dear neighbour Margeurite for their extended care. Cremation has taken place. Relatives and friends are invited to join the James family for a celebration of Doug’s life at the Callander Legion, on Monday, May 30, 2022; visitation 10:00 am to 12:00 pm with a memorial service to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Nipissing Serenity Hospice, the Callander Legion, and the Diabetes Association are suggested.
