Elizabeth "Betty" Harrington Death Notice

HARRINGTON, Elizabeth “Betty” (Shields)

Peacefully at home, with her children at her side, on Tuesday, December 15, 2020, after her four month battle with ALS.  She was in her 88th year. Betty was the cherished wife of the late Des Harrington of Powassan (1929-2016); greatly loved mother of Sheila Davis of North Bay, Dean (Judith) Harrington of Powassan and the late Sean Harrington (1965-1970). Loved affectionately by her grandchildren Taylor Davis (Devon Marson), Tanner Davis, Cole Harrington, Jaye Harrington and was Great-grandma to Mathew Marson.  Betty was also Godmother to many relatives’ and friends’ children over the years, to whom she cared for deeply. She is survived by her Brother Emmett (Kathleen) of Kanata. Predeceased by her parents Joseph Shields and Johanna (Bennett); brothers Pat, Terry (Vanzie, surviving), Mike (late Mary), Mary Stafford (late Doug). Betty will be missed by many she knew from her 30 years as a separate school board secretary and another 34 years at Highview Golf Course. The family and Betty would like to send a special thank you to Judy, Ruth, Helen, Lynn and Rolanne from VON, Sherry from Physio, Chris with speech pathology, and Tara and Dr. Jinnah for their wonderful support and care. Betty’s wishes during these trying times is for no public visitation or services.  Her ashes will join her husband at All Saints Mausoleum, North Bay.
