Frances died peacefully, after a long illness with Alzheimer's Disease, at Waters Edge Community Care, North Bay, on Thursday, February 15, 2024. She was 90 years old. Frances (Crate) was predeceased by her husband Clarence Norman Paul. She was the much-loved mother of Janet Russell (Robert) of North Bay, Barry Paul (Brenda) of South River, Terry Paul (Monique) of Chisholm, and Linda Barnes (the late Steven) of Schumacher. She will be lovingly remembered by 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Frances is predeceased by her siblings Lila Patriquin, James Crate, Marie Hardbattle, and Bill Crate. Frances and her husband Clarence raised their family while running a dairy farm in Chisholm, Ontario, for many years. Cremation has taken place. A private graveside service will be held for the burial of her ashes next to her husband Clarence at Powassan Union Cemetery.
