GRASSER, Garfield “Garry” Francis January 29, 1941 – September 12, 2023

Garry passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the Rising Sun Long Term Care Facility in Black Diamond, Alberta on September 12, 2023. Best friend and partner of Helen Kirby for 42 years. Cherished Stepfather of Tracie Van Roon (Dave) and Katherine (Andy) Young, all from Alberta. “Gamps” to Erika (Jacob), Garett, and Brooke. “Grampy Garry” to Colten, Katrina and Adrian. Predeceased by his parents, George and Ethel Grasser and his sister, Noreen (Bob) Lang. Also predeceased by Helen’s mother, Bessie Glass and Helen’s brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Jean Glass. Dear brother of Elwood (Sharon) Grasser and Reg (Cecilia) Grasser. Loving uncle of many nieces and nephews. Garry was a dedicated employee of RONA for many years and made many lifelong friends. Cremation has taken place. The Grasser family will receive visitors at the Paul Funeral Home, Powassan, on Sunday, October 1, 2023 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm. A celebration of Garry’s life will take place at 2:00. Interment at Sacred Heart Cemetery will be followed by a luncheon prepared by the Sacred Heart CWL and time of fellowship at the Trout Creek Community Centre.
