Gilbert died Friday, December 1, 2023, at Nipissing Serenity Hospice, North Bay. He was 80 years old. Gilbert was the beloved husband of Julia, and the much-loved father of Christopher, Ronald (Christine), and Myron (Lareina). He will be lovingly remembered by grandchildren David (Inbal), Dylan (Meagan), Brennan, Breina and great-granddaughter Aria. He was the brother of Doreen (Peter) and Verla (Michael). Gilbert was well-known in the Argyle area, as the owner/operator of Mooreview Truck & Tractor in Golden Valley, where many local mechanics were mentored and given their career start. In addition, he carried on the family tradition of beef farming. He and his wife Julia were very involved in the community, supporting the Argyle Lions Club, Argyle Volunteer Fire Department, and Local Roads and Services Boards. The Moore family will receive visitors at the Argyle Community Centre, Arnstein, on Friday, December 8, 2023, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm and on Saturday, December 9 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 noon. Interment St. Paul’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, should you wish to make a donation in Gilbert’s memory, Nipissing Serenity Hospice or the Argyle Lions Club are suggested.
