Gisela Hilde (Fischer) Mattes

Gisela died peacefully, her family by her side, at Nipissing Serenity Hospice on Monday, March 31, 2025. She was 74 years old.

Gisela was the beloved wife of Herbert Mattes of Chisholm. She was the much-loved mother of Monika (Andrew Gray) of Chisholm and Tania of North Bay. She will be lovingly remembered by two grandchildren: Grayson and Adley.

Gisela worked for many years as a Nurse’s Aide, retiring from Nipissing Manor.

Cremation has taken place. Gisela’s family will celebrate her life privately. No public services to be held.
