GARLAND, Gladys Elfreda “Frieda”

After five months of health challenges, Frieda died peacefully on Saturday, November 17, 2018, with family by her side at the  North Bay Regional Health Centre. She was in her 93rd year. Frieda (Mogridge) was predeceased by her beloved husband George Stanley “Chic” Garland (1920-2007) and her grand-daughter Aspen vanWalraven. She was the much-loved mother of Deborah (Art vanWalraven) of Ayr, Garry (Jolyne) of Powassan and Barry (Wendy) of Corbeil, and proud grand-mother of Erika (Colin), Ryan (Jennifer), Jade (Aaron), Sarah, Thomas, Spencer (Victoria), Leisse, Kira (Stuart) and great-grandchildren Mia, Clara, Grey, Norah, Decklan, Michael and Charlotte. Frieda was predeceased by her siblings Victor, Harry, Bill, Parker, Rose and Keith Mogridge. The Garland family will receive visitors at the Paul Funeral Home, Powassan on Monday, November 19, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, and on Tuesday, November 20 from 3:00 to 4:00 pm. The funeral service will follow at 4:00 pm. Interment will take place at Trout Creek Union Cemetery in the spring, 2019.
