Glenn "Allan" Nicholls Death Notice

Allan Nicholls died peacefully at his home in Loring, on Friday, December 1, 2023. He was 77 years old. Allan was the beloved husband of Melody (Simms) of Loring; Father of Stacey Uetz of North Bay and Deanne Spry (Richard Spry) of St. Thomas; Grandfather of Kreszentia Uetz, Mary-Beth Uetz-Trotter (Jeffery Trotter), Austin Spry (Aine Zebregts), Tory Spry (Marshal Begin); and Great-grandfather of Christopher Vaillancourt, Theodore Trotter, Daniel Uetz and Mya-Rose Trotter. Allan was the dear brother of Garry Nicholls (Anne), Sharon Nicholls (Emmett) and Kathy Parks (Norman), and Donald Nicholls. He was predeceased by his parents Mary (Davis) and Rayburn Nicholls; his granddaughter Rebecca Uetz; and his siblings Wendy Nicholls, Cindy Nicholls, Brian Nicholls, and Randy Nicholls.

Allan was retired after 24 years as Manager of the LCBO in Port Loring. A natural entrepreneur and businessman, Allan was well-known in the Argyle area for his several “side” businesses: NickelOdeon Arcade, Garbage collection, Near North Ice, snowplowing and carpentry. Over the years he was active in Argyle Lions Club, Argyle Fire Department, Argyle First Response, Argyle Volunteer Ambulance Service, Royal Canadian Legion Branch 415, Argyle Gun Club and Argyle Riders where he worked as a trail groomer. Allan also coached women’s baseball, was involved in the area 911 signage and the Argyle Wells and Septic initiative.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Allan’s life will be held Saturday, January 13, 2024 from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 415, Port Loring. To leave a tribute or memory for the family, please visit or call Paul Funeral Home, Powassan at 705-724-2024.
