GIESLER, Gregory Joseph “Greg”

Greg Giesler died peacefully, surrounded by family, on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at Nipissing Serenity Hospice. He was 64 years old.

Greg was the much-loved husband of Cindy (Chivers) of Powassan; Father of Matthew, Amanda (Patrick Lafond), and John (Megan Robbins); Grandfather of Dustin, Jaden, Edward, Marc and Jake; Brother of Gerry (Linda), Judy (Scott Smythe), Jane (Brian Anderson), Geoff (Tracy) and Sue (Paul Oshell). He was predeceased by his parents Elizabeth “Betty” (Kunkel) and Pete Giesler.

Greg worked for over 20 years with the Department of National Defense at CFB North Bay before moving on to work with his brother and son at the family boatshop, Giesler Boatworks in Powassan. A former resident of Verner, he dedicated many years volunteering with Verner Minor Hockey. Greg enjoyed fishing, hunting and tinkering in his workshop.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Greg’s life will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2023 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at the Powassan Lions Den, 7 Glendale Heights, Powassan.
