Gwendolyn Sheila "Gwen" Storie Death Notice

Gwen died peacefully at North Bay Regional Health Centre, surrounded by family, on Friday, January 2, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was in her 77th year.

Gwen was predeceased by her beloved husband Glendon Blair “Chubby” Storie (1944-2010).

She was the loving mother of Craig Storie (Kim), Carrie Davis (Eric), Karen Robinson (Jamie) and Kelli Storie (Jason), all of Powassan.

She was the proud grandmother of ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Gwen was the dear sister of Ronnie White (Marg) of Windsor, Dale White (Pat) of North Bay, the late Richard White (Barb, deceased), and Connie Young (John) of Powassan.

She was predeceased by her parents Sheila (Bartraw) and Gordon White.

Gwen will be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Gwen was a familiar face in her volunteer roles in Powassan, particularly with Powassan United Church and Grace House.

The Storie family will receive visitors at Paul Funeral Home, Powassan, on Saturday, January 10, 2026 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm. Spring interment will take place at Powassan Union Cemetery.

If desired, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Powassan United Church, would be greatly appreciated as expressions of sympathy.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to all the staff of North Bay Regional Health Centre and Health Sciences North, Sudbury, who were involved in Gwen’s care.
