James Edward "Jim" Mason

After battling cancer for a year, Jim died peacefully, at North Bay Regional Health Centre on Wednesday, October 16, 2024. He was 65 years old.

Jim was the much-loved father of Dylan Mason of North Bay, Lucas Mason (Amanda) of Peterborough and Solomon Mason (Lara) of Toronto. He was the proud grandfather of Shilow. Jim was predeceased by his parents Barbara (Bush) and Stanley Mason and is survived by his siblings Patricia Belford, Lois Nesbitt and Stanley “Buddy” Mason. Jim will be fondly remembered by his former longtime partner Brenda Brooks.

Jim was retired from a career in residential construction, working the last decade at the Algonquin Home Hardware.

Jim lived and breathed music! He was well-known throughout the area as an accomplished drummer, playing with many bands over the years. To paraphrase Ringo Starr “drumming was his middle name”.

Cremation has taken place.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Partners Billiard and Bowling on November 2nd from 11am till 3 pm with a short  service at Noon for those who would like to share some words in his memory. Dress is casual, refreshments provided.
