After a courageous, 14-year battle with cancer, JoyAnn died peacefully on January 24, 2024, at home as she wished, with her family by her side. She was 73 years old.
JoyAnn was the cherished wife of Glen Eckensviller of Trout Creek; the much-loved mother of Roni Sue (Tim Wiggins) of North Bay and Chad (Kerri Smith) of Trout Creek. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Jordan, Riley, Mason and Ashton and great-granddaughter Kinsley. JoyAnn was the dear sister of Marlene Busch (the late Evan) of Powassan and Rhonda Mullin (David) of Coldwater. She was predeceased by her parents Rosina “Rose” (Hummel) and William “Bill” Grasser, and by her siblings Melvin Grasser (late Alma) and Lorraine Lingenfelter (late John).
A lifelong resident of Trout Creek, JoyAnn had an over 40-year career with Scotiabank in Powassan. She loved her job and always greeted everyone with her beautiful smile. JoyAnn enjoyed going to Bingo with friends and visiting the area casinos, hoping for that “big win”. Above all else, spending time with her grandchildren and great-granddaughter gave her the most joy – they were the light of her life.
Cremation has taken place. JoyAnn’s life will be celebrated privately and in the hearts of all who knew her.
Should you wish to make a donation in JoyAnn’s memory, the Canadian Cancer Society is suggested.
