Judy Whitmell died peacefully, on Sunday, November 24, 2019, surrounded by her loving family at their Port Loring home. She was 73 years of age. Judy (Atkins) was the beloved wife of Bert Edward “Bud” Whitmell and the loving mother of Edward “Ted” (Diana Brushey) of Stittsville, ON and Jennifer of Port Loring. She was the proud grandmother of Rowan Brushey-Whitmell. Judy was the dear daughter of Louise (Judge) and the late William Atkins and sister of Susan Roberts (Bob) of Bramalea, Marylou Atkins-Hayes (John) of Weston, Beverly Atkins of Weston, Peter Atkins (Cathy) of Weston and Janet Atkins-Dauphinais (Stéphane) of Brampton. Judy will be remembered as a strong, capable and kind woman who was one of the founding members of the Argyle First Response and Ambulance teams. The Whitmell family will receive visitors at the St. Paul’s Church, Golden Valley, on Friday, November 29, 2019 from 6 to 8 pm and on Saturday from 1 to 2 pm. The funeral service will be held on Saturday at 2 pm in the church. Interment Port Loring Cemetery.
