Kevin Joseph Hummel

After a long illness, Kevin passed peacefully at North Bay Regional Health Centre on Friday, June 28, 2024. He was 74 years old. Kevin was the beloved husband of Gladys (Allard) of North Bay (formerly of Powassan). He was predeceased by his parents Dorothy (Aultman) and Joseph Hummel and his infant sister Elaine. Kevin was the much-loved brother of Elva (Jerry Way) of Powassan, Thelma (Rocco Mandaglio) of Sudbury, Lorraine (Pete Pépin) of Calgary and Jo-Anne Hummel of Powassan. He will be lovingly remembered by his “other family”, mother-in-law Monica Allard (the late Elmer) of Corbeil and sister-in-law Kathy Allard of Powassan. Kevin was loved and will be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Kevin was a Mechanical Designer in mine equipment manufacturing, working for J.S. Redpath, Miller Technology and finally his own firm, KJH Design. He was well known locally for his brilliant and varied inventions for small businesses.

Kevin had an exceptional talent for fastball and played competitively until he was 60.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial mass will be held Friday, July 19, 2024 at 11:00 am at St. Joseph's Church, Powassan. A celebration of Kevin's life will follow at 1:30 pm at the Powassan Legion Hall. Doors open at 1:00 pm. Reception to follow until 4:00 pm.

If desired, memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society, The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or any charity to benefit children, would be appreciated.
