Kevin Lyle Porterfield

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected death of Kevin, at his home in Trout Creek, on Sunday, August 17, 2025. He was just three days away from his 63rd birthday.

Kevin was the beloved husband and best friend of Angela (Coughlin) of Trout Creek. He was the much-loved father of Jessy and Jeffrey LeBlanc of Sarnia, and grandfather of Landon, Quinn and Berlynn.

Kevin was predeceased by his parents Rose (Sullivan) and Lyle Porterfield. He was the dear brother of Kathy Coughlin (Glenn) of Trout Creek, Allan Porterfield of Burk’s Falls and Karen Roberts (Mike Jamieson) of Powassan.

Kevin was the cherished son-in-law of Denis and Iris Stevens of Matheson and special brother-in-law of Amber Coughlin of Iroquois Falls and Jason Coughlin of Matheson.

He will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.

Kevin was “like a brother” to his childhood friend Mike McConnell of Fergus.

He will be greatly missed by his cat Lucky.

Kevin was a devoted husband to the love of his life Angela, and was looking forward to celebrating their 37th wedding anniversary in September.

A lifelong truck driver, Kevin most recently drove for Tetreault Construction in North Bay.

Kevin enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, like spending time with his wife and kitty, talking on the phone or going out for lunch with family and friends. Kevin’s gentle, non-judgmental and kind nature made him a friend to all who knew him.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Kevin’s life will take place on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at the Trout Creek Community Centre. Gathering from 1:00 to 1:30 pm, with a service of remembrance at 1:30 pm. Reception to follow until 4:00 pm. Kevin would have loved it if we all wear blue jeans and t-shirts.
