We are shocked and saddened to announce Kim’s unexpected passing on Thursday, August 21, 2025 at North Bay Regional Health Centre. She was 50 years old.
Kim (Buchanan) was the beloved wife of Terry Summers of Port Loring and much-loved mother of Geena and Kaleb (Josee). Kim’s family were her everything!
Kim was predeceased by her mother Donna (Strongman) (1949-2020) and by only 14 days, her father, Doug Buchanan (1948-2025). She is survived by her siblings Tara Hampel (Scott) of Port Loring and Michael (Tanya) of Arnstein, and will be lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews: Ashley (Dan), Cole, Jayden (Kyra), Dylan, Kirystyn, Megan, Lily, Shaylynn; and great-nieces: Chelsea and Lauren.
She will also be deeply missed by her beloved Goldendoodle Rosie.
Kim was a familiar face at Buchanan’s Hardware for over 30 years.
Cremation has taken place. A graveside celebration of Kim’s life Service will take place Saturday, September 6, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Arnstein Cemetery. A reception will follow from 2:00 to 6:00 pm at the Argyle Community Centre, Arnstein.
