Lila Ouellette died peacefully, on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at Eastholme, Powassan. She was 89 years old. Lila (Hughes) was predeceased by her husband Marcel Ouellette (1929-2012). She was the cherished mother of Pauline (David Larson) of Brampton, Dennis (Debbie) of Midland, Debra (Wayne Gardiner) of Etobicoke and the late Sharlene Tourigney; and grandmother of Dawn, Derric, Deanne, Kansas & Kyle; and four great-grandchildren. Lila was the dear sister of Garry Hughes (Betty) of Powassan and was predeceased by her siblings Murray and Allan. She is survived by her sisters-in-law Laura Hughes of Powassan and Marilyn Hughes of Callander. Lila was a devout Christian all her life and a faithful member of the Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Powassan. A funeral service will be held at the Powassan Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 2:00 pm and will be live-streamed (contact Dennis at lilaouellettememorial@fastmail.com for login details). Spring interment will take place at the Jehovah’s Witnesses Cemetery, Chisholm Township, at a later date.
