LANG, Leona Theresa

Peacefully, on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at Eastholme, Powassan. She was 92 years old. Leona (Mechefske) was predeceased by her husband Leonard B. Lang (1924-2012). She was the beloved mother of Judy Allen (Ralph) of Winnipeg, Ann Oshell (Doug) of Powassan, Allan (Bernadette) of North Bay, Mike (Bonita Peters) of Trout Creek, Debbie McMartin (Robin Brooks) of Millet, AB, Laurie Pritchard (Peter Gumbrell) of Orillia, Jeff (Penny-Ann) of Callander, Ted (Kim) of Newcastle, Tom (Nicole Gagnon) of Trout Creek and Rose (Doug Wieler) of Newmarket; Grandmother of 23 (one predeceased), 30 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Leona was the dear sister of Myrna Schlosser of North Bay. She was predeceased by her sister Joan Burns and brothers Kalvin, Elmer, Edmund, Kevin and Ken Mechefske. Devoted to family and God, Leona was a dedicated homemaker and active member of Sacred Heart Church and the Catholic Women’s League. The Lang family will receive visitors at Sacred Heart Church, Trout Creek, on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm with vigil prayers at 7:45 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church on Thursday at 11:00 am, followed by interment at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
