Suddenly, at his home in Powassan, and outdoors where he loved to be, on Sunday, February 2, 2025. He was 82 years old. Len was the beloved husband of Betty Anne (McBurney) of Powassan. He was the much-loved father of Doug Loxton (Jenny Bytzek) of King City and the late Shaun Loxton (1968-2000). He will be lovingly remembered by two granddaughters, Amber and Ashley.
Len was the dear brother of the late Harold Loxton (Ermnie of Powassan), Clinton Loxton (Iris) of Powassan, the late Jane Hughes (Bob of Toronto), Iris Piper of Powassan, Marilyn Corriveau (Marc) of Windsor, Charlene Selman of Toronto, Eric Loxton (Nancy) of Powassan, Darlene Edwards of Scarborough, Rose Marie Dorval (Bob) of Mattawa, Pauline Brown (Clarence) of Scarborough and the late Phyllis Loxton (late David Darling).
Len worked briefly in the oil fields of Alberta before returning to Ontario and taking a job with Fabrene, where he rode his horse to work daily from his home in Callander. Eventually Len made farrier work his full-time job, supplementing his income with part time work at CNR and the Bear Chair Company in South River. Len's very last job was perhaps his favourite, driving for the Amish. Len had a lifelong love of horses from barrel racing to chariot racing, to horse pulls and working in the bush with his teams, he did it all, and excelled at it all.
Cremation has taken place. Celebration of Len's life will take place Saturday, June 7, 2025 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at the farm, 1278 Memorial Park Drive, Chisholm. Farm-style dress, bring a lawn chair. Rain or Shine!
Should you wish to make a donation in Len’s memory, the Heart and Stroke Foundation is suggested.
