BROOKS, Leonard George Wayne

Wayne Brooks died peacefully, at North Bay Regional Health Centre, on Friday, August 18, 2023. He was 91 years old. Wayne was the beloved husband of Betty Anne (Brown) of Loring and much-loved father of Patsy Crozier (Steve) of Powassan, George Brooks of Sundridge and Gordon Brooks (Judy) of North Bay. He will be lovingly remembered by four grandchildren: David, Christina, Danielle and Jacob and many great-grandchildren. Wayne was the dear brother of Oliver Brooks, Shirley Schmidt, Maynard Brooks, Audrey Clark and Beverly Schneider and was predeceased by his siblings Edward Raaflaub and Lois Carpenter.

Wayne was retired from the Royal Canadian Air Force and was the former co-owner of Lake Bernard Park in Sundridge. He was a long-time member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 467, Sundridge.

The Brooks family will receive visitors at the Paul Funeral Home, Powassan, on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, August 23 at 11:00 am. Interment will take place at Loring Community Cemetery.
