Lewis died peacefully, after a short and unexpected illness, on Sunday, May 8, 2022 at the North Bay Regional Health Centre. He was 80 years old. Lewis was the beloved husband of Geraldine “Geri” (Weller) of Arnstein; the much-loved father of Lauralee (Brad Foreshew) of Loring, Lissa Simms of Alliston, Luci of Calgary, AB and Lucas (Amelia) of Fort Gratiot, MI. Lewis will be lovingly remembered by five grandchildren: Lacey, Brunne, Amelia, William and Martin. He was predeceased by his siblings Phyllis Sargent (the late Harvey), Les Berger (the late Shirleyanne), Lorne Berger (the late Elva) and Glenn Berger (Karla). Lewis and Geri operated Berger’s Store in Arnstein for many years, in addition to his iconic Red Barn Repair Shop. The Berger family will receive visitors at the Arnstein Evangelical Baptist Church on Thursday, May 12th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm and on Friday, May 13th from 2:00 to 3:30 pm at the Arnstein Community Centre Outdoor Rink where the funeral service will then be held at 3:30 pm. The service will be live-streamed, see below. Interment at Arnstein Cemetery will follow the funeral. If desired, memorial donations to the Arnstein Cemetery are suggested.
