Nancy Lynn Binnie (Levely)

After a hard-fought, year long battle, Nancy died peacefully, at North Bay Regional Health Centre on Friday, June 7, 2024. She was 64 years old. Nancy (Levely) was the beloved wife of Michael Binnie of Callander and much-loved mother of Christa Groves of Kirkland Lake and Victoria Groves-McLaughlin of North Bay. She will be lovingly remembered by five grandchildren: Cailynn, Kameron, Tyson, Drayden and Bryer. Nancy was the adored oldest daughter of Jack Levely of North Bay and the late Gertrude “Trudy” (Slattery) Levely. She was the dear sister of Karen Murphy (Terry) of Powassan and Janice Kerr (Bill) of Barrie.

For many years, Nancy owned and operated her own catering company in Elmvale, Ontario. Most recently she worked at Cassellholme, North Bay; screening visitors during COVID. Nancy was a dedicated volunteer in the community, particularly with the Powassan United Church Women and their outreach ministry Grace House charity shop.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Nancy’s life will be held on Friday, June 14, 2024 at the Paul Funeral Home, Powassan. Visitors are welcome from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, with a service of remembrance at 1:00 pm. In tribute to Nancy’s love of vibrant colour, please wear something bright.
