BALL, Norman (Norm) Charles October 10, 1946 – July 30, 2023
It is with profound sadness that the family of Norman (Norm) Ball announce his passing on July 30, 2023, at the North Bay Regional Health Centre after a long struggle with dementia. Norm was in his 77th year. Predeceased by his loving wife of 53 years Patti Ball (Johnston). Survived by his two children, Deborah and Michael (Sarah). He will also be dearly missed by his grandchildren Logan Baker and Ashley Baker (Jessica), as well as his great grandchildren Braxton, Madison, and Xyla. He leaves behind cherished memories in the minds of his siblings Eleanor Davis (Jack), Karen Medley (Murray), and his sister-in-law Dorothy Benard (Brian), as well as many nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends. He is predeceased by his parents Archie and Ruth (Goddard), and his brother Tom (Laura). Norm will be remembered as a great husband, wonderful father, sincere friend, and a very hard-working family man. His passion, or his happy place, was on a lake fishing, trying to catch the “Big One” and even once in a while succeeding. He had retired as a yardman and former truck driver at Arclin. His family would like to thank all the Cherry Lane staff at Cassellholme. Valerie and Chris were amazing, and all the support workers that helped during his stay were remarkable. It wasn’t easy all the time, but his family does appreciate all of your care. Very special thanks to Mike Hall for his enduring, patient friendship with our dad. Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Norm’s life on Sunday, August 27, 2023, from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 445, Callander. If desired, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society (alzheimer.ca) are suggested.
