CLAPPERTON, Orland Russell “Orlie”

Orland Clapperton went home to heaven peacefully, surrounded by his loving family at the home of his daughter in Mississauga, on Saturday, October 2, 2021. He was 90 years old. Orland was the beloved husband of Enid (Barber) of Loring. He was the much-loved father of Keith Clapperton (Patty) of Mt. Albert, Judi Hanna (Derek) of Calgary, Laurie Dryburgh (Steve) of Mississauga and Dave Clapperton (Lisa) of North Bay. He will be lovingly remembered by eight grandchildren: Jason (Robyn), Joel (Megan) and Luke Hanna; Megan, Kate, and Alex Clapperton; and Ben and Nick Dryburgh; and six great-grandchildren: George, Ellie, Chet, Knox, Indie and Henry Hanna. Orland was the dear brother of Leta Smith (late George) of Powassan, Gloria Gillette (late Joe) of Loring, Harley Clapperton and Warren Clapperton (Hazel) of South River and Derrill Clapperton (late Betty) of Port Loring. He was predeceased by his siblings Erva Gorham (Bert of Loring), Marion Bain (Ernie of Parry Sound) and by his sister-in-law Darla Clapperton. Orland was a retired Forestry Technician with the MNR. The Clapperton family will receive visitors at Arnstein Gospel Hall, on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Masks must be worn and physical distancing must be maintained. The funeral service will take place on Thursday, October 14 at 11:00 am at the Argyle Community Centre ODR.
